About "do in background" with Javascript

Hi everyone, since a long time I've being out from this Forum but I'm glad to be back. Well the issue I got is with working with Javascript for Mobile development. I've being developing in Javascript and trying to integrate to the Phone, but I am not quite sure how to do a task in background (like in the Android tutorial) to not use the full mobile processor. Is there anything related with Javascript Object Oriented or HTML5 features that could help with this? I'm having a huge problem as I've being trying to develop for Multiplatform target.
