About xhr.responseText Content inside

Using the syntax xhr.responseText

only get the plain text back, and it is the entire page html text

xhr.open('GET', `http://random-url.com`)

If I want only the text in h1, for example, is there any way can do this? I know I can manipulate the string, but still curious any other way.
