Accessing data of the internet

In this video you mention that if we was getting this data of the net we would access it differently. How? Im trying to expand on this and see if I can pull data of the Facebook Graph and put it in a struct like this

struct FacebookEvents { var title: String? var description: String? var coverPhoto: UIImage? var date: NSDate? var time: NSTimeZone?

}

and then from there display each event in a table view.

So anyone got any pointers for what we would need to do different to achieve this!
