Accessing Pasteboard in Today Widget

I am building an app with Xcode 7 beta and Swift 2. I am using the code below in a UIButton to paste into a UITextView. Before the latest beta update the code was working, however, after the update it does not. When I attempt to paste it pastes the value as empty and when I print this out in Xcode it says nil. This code does work on another button and textview in the main app. Is this something to do with the latest update to Swift 2 and iOS 9 Beta?

UIPasteboard.generalPasteboard().string

I've never worked with UIPasteboard, I wish I could answer your question. But I am sure it has to do with the update, since swift 2.0 has a lot of updates. I apologize for not being able to help much.
