Accredited school? Degree or certificate?

Is Treehouse considered an accredited school? Will I receive a degree or certificate upon completion of my courses? Thanks

As far as I'm aware there's no accredited degree from doing online education with Treehouse and I'm not sure that's the aim. Treehouse is simply fantastic and cheap alternative to an expensive college degree, or you can work on Treehouse alongside it.

There's also a jobs program in Treehouse. I don't use it myself as I'm self employed and not really looking for employment as such but there#s many success stories out there of people who have found work through Treehouse.

Treehouse doesn't really aspire to be like colleges, but offers an alternative and I'd say it strives to offer something better. :-)

Expanding on what the previous guy said, what I have gathered is roughly the same. There is no degree but for a lot of these jobs it's not the degree people look for it's the portfolio. Treehouse gives you the tools to build a portfolio to get the jobs.

I agree: your portfolio says it all. I was just curious. Thanks!

You could also list Treehouse on the Education section of your resume or LinkedIn profile. I've mentioned my favorite Treehouse courses during interviews. Good luck with building an awesome portfolio!

Reopening the old thread[couldnt find a rule against it :p]

So, what about the new tech degree? Any "beef" behind that? Im thinking it would not only be a cool feature of the service but possibly add a ton of accidental bonuses.

-discounts -training validity*(this actually comes up a lot with individuals that havent had a large amount of language/software experience on the job but has applied many man hours toward training)* -the ability to continue learning with another accredited institute. -and the best reason....personal accomplishment.

If possible, can we know if this has been researched/looked into? Id love to know if this is something in the works or if this is something we could never expect, due to this being the internet and anyone having the ability to cheat on testing and what not.

With the new tech degree program, this topic deserves to be reopened, since it shows high on a search engine results but does not mention this new feature.

If possible, maybe some type of permanent link can be placed on this thread that anchors to a section discussing this on the support page. Id likely google this over searching a site for this info.

The tech degree looks awesome and I wouldn't mind if it was accredited but that aside, its an awesome alternative to learning as you can you the cert to build an online portfolio and link the tech degree cert to a linkedin profile if they allow that. I have done some online courses with udemy, lynda and udacity. But when I signed up for treehouse I must say I love how the material is presented and you can see the treehouse team put alot of work into it. I usually fall asleep from other online courses because the material presented were not engaging enough. Well guys I hope you enjoy whatever you are learning from this site because I can tell you I sure do :)
