Achieving 10.000+ points in a week...

This week Margeaux Spring achieved over 10,000+ points, i wish i could ask her directly how she did this. Sometimes i spend all day on treehouse but i've hardly ever got up to 3,000 points in a week. Can any one give me some pointers/tips to learning fast sometimes i take a look at the leader boards and it seems like i'm a bit slow??

How do you know that?

Adjusted title of post to "10,000 points a week", you can check the leader boards

Hi Umy,

Don't worry about the leaderboard. Some people who use Treehouse are already developers themselves with years of experience. Some want to brush up on their skills, others may be looking for small bits of knowledge that they've missed over the years. I went through some courses at 2x speed and got through probably a thousand points in a day, but only because I already knew most of what the course was teaching. Now that I'm going through more uncharted territory, I'm much much slower.

On top of that, some people have less responsibilities than others, and can afford to learn on Treehouse all day.

Taking a quick look at your profile and I can see that you're doing absolutely fine. What's important is that you learn the material, not how fast you learn it. Keep it up!

Thanks for the comment, i adjusted the title of the post. I meant 10,000 points a week but i understand your point.

I checked the user profile you're referring to and they achieved almost all of those points today, on August 3rd. I don't know if it's a bug or something, but they certainly did not learn all of that content in a day.

if you are a developer an know what you are doing, you can skip the video and just take the quizzes and challenges. You get the points quickly that way.

I would not worry about points. I took courses too fast at the beginning and am having to relearn the material now. Take your time, practice as you go, and get the information in your head. Remember that this is not a graded course, so the only thing that matters is that you learn what you are interested in.

Thanks Ted i agree, getting and understanding the info is very important
