Adding a custom constructor

Error is :

./Spaceship.java:4: error: invalid method declaration; return type required public shipType() {

Spaceship.java 
public class Spaceship {
    public String shipType;

  public shipType() {
    shipType = "SHUTTLE";
  }

    public String getShipType() {
      return shipType;
    }

       public void setShipType(String shipType) {
       this.shipType = shipType;
    }
}

Hi,

I have literally just gone back to some basic and covered this challenge seconds ago...

You don't actually have a Constructor in your code. A constructor within a class (In Java anyway) needs to be the same name as a Class so that it "constructs" your changes when the Class is called.

The task does however require that you add 2 constructors, I believe it is because if you don't pass a shipType through when calling new Spaceship(), it will default to SHUTTLE.

See my code below...

public class Spaceship {
    public String shipType;

    public String getShipType() {
      return shipType;
    }

    public void setShipType(String shipType) {
      this.shipType = shipType;
    }

    public Spaceship() {
      this.shipType = "SHUTTLE";
    }

      public Spaceship(String type) {
      this.shipType = type;
    }
}
