Java Java Objects (Retired) Harnessing the Power of Objects Methods and Constants

Adding a method java

Finally, let's add a method named charge. It should be public and return nothing. When called it should set mBarsCount to the value of the constant you declared in Task 1.

GoKart.java
public class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private String mColor;
  private int mBarsCount;

  public GoKart(String color) {
    mColor = color;
    mBarsCount = 0;
    public static int charge;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return mColor;
  }
}

Hi Matthew,

It looks like you've added a variable instead of a method. I've detailed a way to generate the method it's asking for below with comments, please let me know if you have any questions!

public class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private String mColor;
  private int mBarsCount;

  public GoKart(String color) {
    mBarsCount = 0;
    mColor = color;
  }

// The Challenge is requesting a public method called Charge which returns nothing
  public void charge() {
   // The method should set mBars to the constant you declared earlier
   mBarsCount = MAX_BARS;
  }

}
