Adding active states to the navigation section - my shirts4mike page is having errors

<ul class="nav"> <li class="shirts <br /> <b>Notice</b>: Undefined variable: section in <b>C:\xampp\htdocs\inc\header.php</b> on line <b>17</b><br /> "<a href="shirts.php">Shirts</a></li> <li class="contact <br /> <b>Notice</b>: Undefined variable: section in <b>C:\xampp\htdocs\inc\header.php</b> on line <b>18</b><br /> "<a href="contact.php">Contact</a></li> <li class="cart"><a href="#">Shopping Cart</a></li> </ul>

This is what appears on the page source when looking at it. I entered in all of the information correctly.

What have you typed for your variables? This happens when you mistype something or simply don't give your variable a value or something.
