Adding SSL Certificate to static HTML website

I finished building my simple portfolio HTML website (petergess.com) and wanted to add an SSL Certificate. I understand there isn't the same security threat on an HTML/CSS site, but it does help for search engine ranking.

Any ideas?

You can get free SSL certificates, which would be fine for a small personal portfolio, but in terms of SEO perspective, here's a good article with data regarding the overall affect of implementation which could assist you with making a decision.
