Android Implementing Designs for Android Updating Other GridViews Updating the Recipients Activity

All of the nine patch images in the sample files are broken.

I've tried renaming them to remove the .9 which prevents the compile error, but the still render weirdly (red and black outline, completely misaligned etc). What is the cause and solution of this.
