Alter ego for web presence?

I know that there is no such thing as a stupid question, but I'm worried that this may be an exception.

My question is this: If you were to google my name right now, you would get a bunch of 3d Computer Generated Graphics related results, as that is currently the field I'm in. I wouldn't want any potential web dev employers to see this however, so I'm thinking of using a 2nd name specifically for web dev related sites such as twitter, github, and even email.

Kind of like how in "My Cousin Vinny", Vinny claimed to use 2 names. One for his Lawyer name and another for his acting name.

So you have a background in design? Personally, I would say this compliments your venture into web development.

Never saw it that way. To be honest I assumed they wanted someone who lives and breathes web code but I suppose that's not the case.

Thank you!

I agree that your background in design could help rather than hurt you. Chances are your future employers in the web dev industry won't see your past experience as a negative but as a plus that you understand solid design principles. So there's no need to complicate your life by dividing everything up. Own your diversity and come up with creative ways to include your web dev experiences in your existing online presence.

Thank you for your wisdom. i suppose I should get creative and embrace my background!
