Am I supposed to be using the workspace or the in-browser coding area during the lessons?

It seems like I should be using the one in browser since it guides you step by step and marks you correct but in the videos he is using the workspace and it is frustrating how the one in the browser during the lesson doesn't save from lesson to lesson.

I am a little bit confused by your question. The lessons will provide you with an option to launch workspace In a browser(icon in bottom right of video lesson). When you use that one - it typically has some elements set up for you that are lesson specific. When you open, work on and save it, it should be available for you to access later on access via workspaces left tab), even when you are not working in that specific lesson. Depending on the lesson, there may be a new workspace set up for you to work with, or you will be continuing to work on a workspace that you had already started. I hope that helps!

After I watch the videos the next page it brings me to is the coding challenge and has me code in the browser to advance to the next part of the challenge. I'm guessing that is seperate from the overall project and workspace?

yes, the code challenges are seperate from the workspaces. the content that they contain are usually very similar, and alot of the time you can pull your answers from the workspace to pass the challenges.

Hi Jared Sturge

Sorry the course is frustrating. Could you let us know which course it is and which steps / videos you are referring to? evan rost points out that we have 2 different coding areas in the site: workspaces is a in-browser text editor which you can use to follow along with courses, or just to create your own projects. Code challenges are used to test your knowledge of what you learned -- those are the parts of a course where you have to complete 1 or more coding tasks, and you get messages letting you know if you've passed the challenge.

Let us know which of these you're talking about (or whether you're talking about both of them) and we can give you more advice.
