4,145 PointsAm I too ambitious?
When I look to see what everyone is learning it seems that it is recommended to know a little of everything, but really to know a lot of something.
I would really like to learn web development to build websites, but I would also really like to make apps.
Is being proficient in both Web and App development too ambitious? Is it too much to know/understand to be really good in both? If so, should I just focus on one?
Thanks guys.

15,181 PointsLearn it all! I would focus on one at a time but as long as you can perform as expected and keep cramming more knowledge into your brain, why not? I started as a front end developer, now I'm working towards a fullstack developer across several different languages and environments. Also, just so you know, you can use front end technologies (html, css, javascript) to create mobile and desktop apps. check out http://electron.atom.io/ or https://facebook.github.io/react-native/ for examples.
In short, get good (employable) in a specific field then expand your skill set. Goodluck!
