Amazon Web Services

I have already registered for a name in Namecheap.com and I wanted to use Amazon Web Services as my hosting server. However, when I input the DNS (from the Route 53 console), the webpage does not show an index page. I contacted namecheap and they said that AMS DNS does not have a zone. Anyone know how to use AMS as the hosting server?
