Android Development with SQLite and/or ORMLite

Based on some development projects that I've done for a mobile app dev course in college, I'd love to see Treehouse's take on Android development using SQLite and/or ORMLite. It seems like there's so much overhead when working with databases in Android...I'm wondering if there's a better way or a different angle that I haven't been exposed to yet.

There is actually a workshop coming on today that is about SQLite with Android. Check the library page and you will see it right there with a countdown timer to when the workshop will be on
