Android emulator

Once running, the Android emulator is helluva slow. Any tips on configuring it for ageing hardware?

You can use the Intel X86 emulator included in the SDK; or you can try the Genymotion emulator, which plugs into VirtualBox. Ben has a new track explaining the setup.

Yep, definitely try Genymotion! It is almost always much faster. The Intel hardware-accelerated emulator is a good choice, too, but I really like Genymotion.

Thanks. That seems to be ticking along much better now. Still using it as an excuse to get a new PC though :o
