android emulator stuck on loading screen, any fixes?

was working fine til today, it just keeps loading and never actually goes to the home screen. I tired making a new emulator but the problem still exists.

try quitting out of it and launching it again

Just wait! It takes an incredibly long time to start up. Perhaps, you could try installing Genymotion. It's a lot faster!
