Android Roadmap

Will you be looking at other Android features as part of your planned road map - Google Maps, image and video feeds etc ?

I see there is a planned video for March, guessing this is a web view of sorts ? Is that the end of the planned Android road map ?

Your comments appreciated as always.

cheers

Simon

The final stage of the Blog Reader project is almost ready, and as you guessed it's about Intents and the WebView. Here's the pending description:

Our list of blog posts looks nice and everything is working well behind the scenes, but nothing happens when the user taps on an item in the list. In this stage we'll add a listener for such a tap using the 'onListItemClick()' method and talk about a few different Intents we can use for different actions. At first we'll use an Intent to open the URL of the post in the browser, but then we'll add a second Activity to open the URL within our app and display it in a WebView. Finally we'll let users easily share the link however they want using the simple Share Intent.

I am also set to record an Android workshop very soon that should be available in April.

After that things are a bit more up in the air. We're having some discussions about iOS and Android direction and resources and will update the roadmap as soon as we make a decision.

There was a post about topics for Android a while back, but it may be some time before we see some of these. There is just so much to cover, and we know we need more help to cover it all!
