Android SDK or Treehouse Android SDK?

I am using the SDK from Treehouse that I downloaded first while making the crystal ball project. However on this video, I saw ben's screen, where the SDK he downloads from Android's website dates back to 2012. What should I do? Stick to the modified Android SDK from Treehouse or download from Android which I have a little experience with and is kinda buggy as I tried follow a tutorial from a book which was so hard to follow few months back.

You can continue to use the Treehouse SDK and always upgrade to the latest version by using the SDK Manager in your workspace. Click on the Window-->Android SDK Manager and check for updates and install the latest version.
