can not figure out how to load a console app in 2017 using C#

If it's a solution from a previous version you should be able to just double click on it. Does that not work?

Joe,

Is you console app project a .NET Framework console app or a .NET Core console app? What version of Visual Studio did you use to originally create the project? If you try opening the project using "File > Open > Project/Solution..." do you get an error? If so, what is the error message?
