any video related to customize and overhaul bootstrap?

Hi everyone, I am eager to learn how to customize bootstrap, not only via bootstrap official website's custom build. I would to learn how to overhaul and customize to build a new website based on bootstrap. Maybe it can be sale as a theme on the website like wrapbootstrap. I already checked out framework basics, but it seems to customize bootstrap by checking the boxes on the official website of the bootstrap, not the way I want to learn. Is there any video on treehouse can learn about that or any info elsewhere can help me out?

Thank you for helping me out, James. I don't have strong CSS skills, but I do have basic CSS skills. I have done some google searches before and turned out I got and like the same articles as you provide here. They are general guidelines there. I am wondering and hope there is complete step by step intermediate or advanced tutorial regarding to customizing bootstrap as other treehouse's video. BTW: I am surprising about what I can learn through teamhouse's courses. It is amazing!

There's no real magic to customizing bootstrap for the most part, it's just overriding CSS. To be able to do it well you need to have a strong foundation in how CSS works.

  • CSS Foundations
  • Framework Basics
  • CSS Layout Techniques

To learn about responsive web design you've got a few options:

  • The Build a Responsive Website course
  • The 2nd half of the replacement course How to Build a Website
  • Code School's Journey Into Mobile course

Then it's time to read up on the specifics of modifying Bootstrap and how to add in plugins. Then you should probably be good to go. Once you've done all of that maybe dissect well-made free bootstrap theme from http://www.bootstrapzero.com/
