I was just curious if anybody has had any luck with elance freelance work.

My opinion is brief, but the market on elance just seems way too saturated for me to want to put my hat in the pool. I was getting at least 50 plus offers on every job posted, from people all over the world, asking for anywhere from as little as $5 an hour to $100+ an hour for the same job.
I'm not sure how successful some are, or what it takes, but I personally think I can make more money, faster by working for minimum wage locally. Just my $.02

Treehouse Moderator 145,863 PointsI personally haven't and probably won't. I've heard way too may negative things about it. I've heard that you will only win the job if you bid WAY BELOW what you're worth. I've heard that it's almost impossible to get a job because they all go to 'overseas' nations for pennies per hour.
This is all hearsay and NOT from my own experience, but after hearing all that, I just think it's probably going to be way too much of a hassle to try.
Like Kevin said... just my two cents!

28,149 PointsFinding local business/companies/people who need your service. People tend to like to go with those they shake hands with first. You probably know someone who knows someone, who needs your services. Referrals are amazing.
