Anybody know XHTML?

I've been reworking an old site done in XHTML, which I don't really know, but I see few differences between it and HTML. One that I do see is:

_extended="true"

in divs, headers and paragraphs, right in the tags:

Does anyone know what this means?

I am familiar with XHTML but I can honestly say I am not familiar with any _extended attribute for div header or paragraph tags. I don't think such an attribute exists in the XHTML library.

After doing a Google search for _extended="true" I am pretty certain that that attribute is related to javascript and or jquery.
