1,497 PointsAnyone blog about their development path?
I was thinking about blogging about the path towards being a developer. Has anyone else done this?
My only reservation would be if someone would really care about another new wannabe developer? My answer to this would be "maybe". Seeing what works/doesn't work for other newbies might be useful.

Courses Plus Student 18,830 PointsHi Matt! I was hoping someone who has blogged about their path would answer your question because I was curious what others had to say too. That being said, since no one has....yet....I'll share with you what others have shared with me. :) If you want to blog about your path towards being a developer I say go for it! Others have in fact done it, I'm not sure who on Treehouse has, but the first person I thought of was Laurence Bradford. Her blog and following has grown so much since she started blogging about learning to be a developer. No promises that your blog will become that popular, but that shouldn't stop your from doing it. Your experience will definitely benefit others in some way! Just because someone might not reach out and say "Hey your blog is awesome and totally inspired me!" doesn't mean that it's not helping them. I've found many blogs and articles about a newbies journey that have helped me so I'm sure yours will help someone too.
With all that in mind, even if "no one really cares about another new wannabe developer" (first off, get that thought out of your head! You are no longer a wannabe developer, you are now a developer in training mode. Also, every developer started out as a wannabe developer. If they didn't want to be a developer I hope they didn't stick with it for their own happiness sake), do the blog for yourself! It will be a great way to reaffirm everything you're learning and will allow what you've learned to take a deeper root in your mind. It will also help you to be able to "talk the talk" and put programming concepts into your own words, again helping YOU understand what you're learning even better. So even if no one reads it, do it for yourself. However, I'm positive people will read it and that it will help someone else in their journey. It's pretty awesome that there are so many blogs out there about different person's path to being a developer. That path and journey can be rough at times, and it definitely helps to find someone who has the same feelings and thoughts and struggles as you do, and see how they were able to get through it all.
In short, if you want to write a blog about your path towards being a developer, I think you should totally do it! :) It will most definitely help someone else, but more importantly it will help you.
