It really shouldn't matter- coding won't take up enough system resources to really make a difference. Just go with whichever you want more!

3,390 PointsThe only issue I see is the screen size. It's so much easier to do development with a large screen. If you plan to go with Macbook Air, I'd recommend to have an external display. Macbook Pros are retina displays so it's not a problem.

22,344 PointsYes, its more about the size in this case.... ;) I would say add an ext. display if you need the mobility of a Macbook (in this case a new MBair is great). Or go with the 27" 5k Imac, maybe something between, depending on your needs and options. Its not only about the resoultion and with this pricetag the 15" retina Macbook, to me is not better then the 13" air at all (focus on mobility).
