anyone know of something that works the same and isn't 70$?

i want something free that does the same thing.

You can just use the 'free' version of Sublime. Works the same, just pops up a window from time to time and asks if you'd like to buy it.

There's a good list of editors here also.

I just recently discovered atom.io, and I really like it. Installing packages can be somewhat tricky (or not, it might just be my system since I had Ruby and other programs installed first), but it works great and has nearly any kind of package available for features that you see in other robust text editors.
