app development

What is the best way to develop apps for all devices?

3 Answers

Building a web app in PHP or Ruby is probably the most cross-platform way of doing it. Any internet-enabled device could then use it.

If you're looking to develop apps that access a phone/tablet's native APIs, take a look at Adobe's PhoneGap. This will allow you to build the application using web technologies, and target iOS, Android and Windows Mobile devices.

Rhys,

Do you have experience with PhoneGap? Performance wise, did you see any differences between PhoneGap vs. Android(Java) and iOS(Objective-C) native apps?

well, i dont have any experience in that, but i will check out the adobe, i thought that is where treehouse came in to play.
