Hi I'm using android studio and when I set the Theme to any other theme that is no the default I get a force close..how do I change it in android studio? it's different than Eclipse thanks

Which version of Android Studio are you using (Android Studio > About Android Studio)? I'm using the latest build and I am able to change the theme without any errors. Because Android Studio is still in its beta release, you may have encountered a bug that has since been fixed.
