App icon ic_laucher too small

I have completed the Android Simple App Project with the Crystal Ball App. Everything works great, but the launcher icon appears too small on my Galaxy S4. I guess it is supposed to take the PNG file in the HDPI drawable folder, but takes it in the MDPI or something. How can I change that?

Could you take a look in your mdpi, hdpi, xhdpi, and xxhdpi and see if you have icons in all of those folders? If you do, can you check the size of each one?

  • mdpi = 48px x 48px
  • hdpi = 72px x 72px
  • xhdpi = 96px x 96px
  • xxhdpi = 144px x 144px

I was missing the xxhdpi size! Thanks!

Great! If you did have a an asset in xhdpi it should have scaled the asset up though. Make sure that you are using the correct sized assets in each folder. A common mistake that I see some people make is that they put the same exact image in each of the dpi folders. Glad I could help. Keep coding!
