App icon is not listed in menu in emulator

When I try to run my app in the emulator, the icon for my app is not listed in the menu and therefore I can not run it. This occurs both in the Android Studios emulator and the genymotion emulator. Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong?

You should run your App by using the "Run 'app'" button in Andoid Studio (Sifht+F10). From there choose your device in Genymotion (make sure it's running). Once runned it should now be in your menu.
