Which of the announcements are you excited about?
I getting an iPhone 6S+ and I'm considering the iPad Pro with the new Keyboard.

2,582 PointsThe iPad Pro would be interesting if we could use it for development or have Xcode loaded on it

32,861 PointsI'll probably get the 6S since I've been rocking the 5S for about 2 years now. The 5S was my first iPhone and I regret not getting one sooner. Everything just works and it doesn't slow down like all the Androids I've owned tend to do over time.
The new iPad sounds pretty powerful, not sure if I could justify spending that much on a tablet at this point in time though. New Apple TV didn't really impress me.
What really frustrates me with Apple lately is their MacBook Pro series. They keep taking away USB ports. I DJ too and hooking up a USB hub at every gig is a real pain, plus it introduces latency. I understand that they want to go for the thinner and lighter look, but they should also release a model that offers 3 ports too.

Treehouse Moderator 37,862 PointsI agree with what you said about the iPad and TV. What are your thoughts on Apple inviting Microsoft the the event?
Colin Marshall
32,861 PointsThanks for pointing the Microsoft thing out, I had not read about it yet.
I think it's a great thing for Apple users. To be able to use Office on iOS is awesome. On a related note, thank god they are finally updating Office on OS X! Office 2011 on OS X was crappy when it came out, so being stuck with it for 4-5 years has been frustrating.

Treehouse Moderator 37,862 PointsIt was definitely amusing when it was announced Microsoft was going to demonstrate there apps on the iPad Pro, the whole room went silent.

12,397 PointsI have not seen it yet, but from what I've heard there is nothing in this announcement that has me excited. I like Apple and the announcements are cool, but I just barely have had my iPhone for a year (yes, Colin, my Android phone definitely got sluggish over the years). I'm not upgrading any time soon. I'm a big Amazon user so Apple TV can't get me to switch without Amazon support. Finally, the iPad Pro is cool but it would not be a fit for me since I hope to get a Macbook Pro eventually. It would be somewhat redundant to have both. If it ran desktop apps as Zuhayr may have been suggesting, then the additional keyboard may have provided me with a mobile alternative. If it's just an iPad with a keyboard then I'd rather stick with the Mackbook dream.

23,695 PointsI agree with you Colin! I've also been rocking the 5s but for only about a year and have really wanting to dive into the 6/6s plus arena. The iPad Pro seems to be insanely powerful but I'd have to go for The 6s plus and Apple Watch before I'd spend money on the iPad Pro.

Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Graduate 51,574 PointsI was on a iPhone 5 for 2 years but now I switched to BlackBerry -> my iPhone display and home button are broken.
So I'm waiting for the 6S models to come to Austria and then I'm switching back to iPhone. The Watch would also be a nice touch, but spending too much I can't afford :)
What would really be exciting for me: MacBook Pro 17".
Colin Marshall
32,861 PointsYa it's a bummer they stopped making the 17" MacBook Pro. That was also the last MacBook that had three USB ports. Then they went to two, and now they're down to one. I heard they dropped the 17" because all the MacBook Pros have to have Retina screens and a 17" Retina screen would be way too expensive. That was a few years ago though so things may be different now. A 16" would be ideal for me, because the 17" is a little bulky.
Nejc Vukovic
Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Graduate 51,574 PointsYeah a 17" could be a bit bulky at times, but I kinda liked it. I'm using a Dell Precision M6800 from the company for work and its big but you get used to it.
And the prices for the 17" Retina wouldn't be that expensive IMO.
They should continue to produce them.
Well maybe next year :)
Colin Marshall
32,861 PointsYa I think now the prices would be a lot better for a 17" Retina. I think back when Retina screens first came out and they eliminated the 17" model it would have been like $4000+ for a 17" MacBook Retina so they scrapped it.

Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Graduate 51,574 PointsThe great thing would also be: RoR, Node.js, MAMP,... on an iPad Pro.

Would really be a great idea to use Xcode on the iPad.

32,861 PointsThat would definitely be sweet, but I would be really surprised if they ever did that. One reason being security and another being that they would lose sales off of Mac products if you could build iOS apps on an iOS device.
