Apps for coding?

Does anyone have any suggestions for apps I can use to just mess around with some of the basic languages? I'm not looking for anything to teach me, just a playground-like setting (think CodePen or Treehouse's Workspaces). I have an iPad so screen size shouldn't really be a problem; price also isn't a huge issue. Any ideas?
