Are viewport versions (mobile and tablet), considered as duplicate content by Search Engines?

Are viewport versions (mobile and tablet), considered as duplicate content by Search Engines? Do I have to make sure that I have rel="canonical" for these?

If these sites will serve one domain name there shouldn't be duplicate content issue. It will be the same site in the "eyes" of crawlers.

I can't realise though why do you do that? Why don't you want restyle the same content with mediaqueries?

Yes, i agree with you. Mediaqueries will be the best solution for different device. Device targeted sites creation is a very old method and it will be just a waste of time and skill nowadays.

Can you pls give more detail? What do you mean by 'viewport versions'? Are you going to create several identical sites and handle requests from different devices to redirect them on those sites depending on the type of device?

Yes Nikolay, that's exactly my question is. I have identical sites and using media queries requests for different devices.

I agree with Nikolay. Rather than make multiple sites, which sounds rather time consuming, focus more on creating usable media queries. Here is a link to help you with your journey, best of luck. media queries
