14,340 PointsI didn't do the front-end class with Udacity but i did do a course in C# making games. There they gave you an exact homework assignment and then you would get graded by other students. The only homework they give you here is to code anything, nothing specific. So i would just recommend making your portfolio site as practice and if you want some real world project from Treehouse i think the Techdegree is the way to go if you've got the money, otherwise just ask friends, family or here on the forum for project ideas and then you can post them up and have people rate them. As far as projects go without the Techdegree, the instructors just show you how to code a specific site and then you get quizes and code challenges after one or two video but nothing too big, usually a few lines of code or multiple choice.
Hope this helped!
