1,575 PointsAre you required to register with WorkSource to utilize the job placement in Code Oregon?
Haven't had any time to go into WorkSource center to register in person. Approaching the 60 day deadline. Am I just going to lose out on the free membership to Treehouse? Or do I also lose the job placement services and entry to career fair?
Also is job placement limited to positions in Oregon? Or are there opportunities in California?

11,602 PointsI received an email from Treehouse that indicated that I still needed to register with my Work Source center. It basically stated the below. Also, it is to my understanding that the positions are available to people in Oregon and not California at this time.
When do I need to complete my registration with WorkSource? β’Once you have earned your 1st badge you will have 60 days of access to Treehouse and the Code Oregon Learning Adventures. In order to continue your Learning Adventures beyond the 60 day period you must register with WorkSource.

Here's the meat of what my email said:
Your Treehouse Account Will Continue to Be Free for up to a Year as Long as You:
Stay active on Treehouse by unlocking badges and completing your track. Try to think in terms of logging in at least once a week. If your account is inactive for 30 days, you'll risk losing the account.
Register with WorkSource in person after earning a badge. The deadline is December 9, 2014. More information is at https://s3.amazonaws.com/code-to-work/code-oregon/CodeOregon-WorkSource.pdf
Maintain an active WorkSource account, and fill out your job seeker ID after registering at https://teamtreehouse.com/account/code-oregon . We'll be sending more info on this soon.
Thank you for being part of Code Oregon! If you have any further questions, please email help@teamtreehouse.com and our Support Team will be happy to help :)

1,575 PointsDavey Gardner yea I read that too. What's still unclear is if the deadline refers only to the free account? So will the Treehouse Jobs team refuse to help with job placement if you can't make it to register in person?
My problem is that the WorkSource centers are only open from 8am-5pm M-F. There's no way I can take any time off of work to go in person. Would rather pay the $25/month then risk losing my job. I'm in Oregon but would like to expand my job options to California.
Emailed them and waiting to hear back.. Will try the # you listed. Thanks.

11,602 PointsYour welcome. Let me know what you hear back.

1,575 PointsSo heard back but still unclear if we lose job placement benefits if we can't make it into WorkSource center. But this is what they said re: Treehouse account.
"Weβve implemented the various deadlines for job seekersβ benefit. In order to give learners the best chance of being hired out of Code Oregon, we do not close inactive accounts. In order to have the best chance of getting a job, we encourage students to finish their track by the end of 2014 so that they have time to practice their new skills before the jobs fair in spring 2015. Still do try to get in as soon as possible, but your account will not be closed. :) "

1,575 PointsFYI, heard back from the Code Oregon team at Treehouse. If you can't make it into a WorkSource center b/c of conflicts with your job hours, no worries. You can still take advantage of the job placement benefits. Also, the Jobs Team will help you find a job outside of Oregon if that is your preference. The WorkSource requirement is if you want to stay with a free account.
