Array as a parameter

Why doesn´t this work?

                                    func turnElementsToRed(array: Array) {
                                    for element in array {
                                    //turn element.background to red
                                    }
                                    }

hey there,

when passings Arrays as a parameter, you must declare the object type that the Array is holding. For example:

var arrayOfStrings: Array<String>

or you can write like this

var arrayOfStrings: [String]

the above two are valid

Are the elements UIViews? if so ...

func turnElementsToRed(array: [UIView]) {
     for element in array {
          element.backgroundColor = UIColor.redColor()
     }
}
