Android

Avd won't open

When I start a avd it just gets stuck on the boot image where it says "android" and it won't start up

Another thing too is the avd's do take a bit of time to start up. If you do continue to develop with them a lot of developers will start them in the background before you need it so it will be ready when you actually do need it

I'm not sure why it's taking so long to start up, but I'd suggest using Genymotion instead of the emulator in Android Studio. Ben created a series of videos on how to use it in the Android Tools course. It loads a lot quicker and it's also more responsive.
