Awkward behavior tapping photos

When I tap on a photo, nothing happens; however, when I tap on another photo. the original photo opens to the detail page. This happens with every photo.

I noticed the same behavior with the tableview (friends and recipients) in the Ribbit app. Here's my post for that one (still unanswered): https://teamtreehouse.com/forum/tableview-not-deselecting-properly
