background & header extend far beyond viewport

I'm working with a 1000px grid and all my content sits nicely within it…except strangely, my repeating background and my fixed header extend to the right about 50% beyond the viewport. I've been searching and trying stuff for a few hours now. can tell that this is probably an obvious issue but I'm not seeing it! The site in question is here: sowhitedi.github.io/pixel-swig Any help is much appreciated!

Hey there, thanks for the help. I ended up solving it!

The site in question is not available. It seems there is a 404 error when a visit is attempted.
