Background Image - initial settings overruling

When testing in Chrome, browser is ignoring the background size and repeat rules added to the selector ^= and with both of those properties remaining as 'initial' and therefore the icon just appears as large background behind text.

Hey, Mendel... I think you'll need to give us more context to answer your question. Could you post your code here so we can examine it? :)

Yes - would imagine ;)

Not even using any of my own code - simply previewing the code the instructor uses (and is in the next video-or the one after that- appearing by default in the workspace) ignores the background size and repeat settings.
