Bad search tool in forum

I find the Search tool very frustrating. it starts searching as I type, but loses focus and then I have to go back and try again. It's nice to try and emulate the way google works, but it is falling far short of that functionality

I am also finding this quite annoying, every time I hit the space bar I find myself having to manually activate the search bar by clicking on it every time I would like to add another word to the search parameters.

I am posting this in the hope that if others are also having this issue and search for it in the forums, they to will post about it and draw attention to the web developers at treehouse. The more people that post something, the chances of a fix will be better and will happen sooner.
