-bash: mate: command not found

When i type "mate hello.rb" into the command line, I get the following output:

-bash: mate: command not found

I have textmate installed.

Can anyone explain why it's doing this?

Issue solved:

Just follow the instructions within the terminal tab in Textmate preferences
