This recently happened to me for the Prototyping with Foundation for Apps course, but they sent an email on the same day informing me they'd upgrade my account temporarily at no extra cost to allow time to complete the course.

Strange, i dont think i have got any notification about this... I really love my Treehouse, but i think it is a sad thing that Treehouse suddenly chooses to change courses when they feel like. it's kind of like being kicked out of a class i already have paid and registered for....

Same happened to me with RxJava course... this is just not right and really bad move. I can't come back to videos I've already watched. Thinking about cancelling my subscription...

Can you post a link to the courses in question?

Interesting. I haven't seen this before. I'm unsure why these courses would be for pro users only.

Howdy folks!

Honestly, we could have done a better job of announcing this change, and I apologize on behalf of Treehouse for that. I'm personally listening to and documenting everyone's feedback on this and I will be sharing it with the rest of the company.

At no-additional-cost, we have provided Pro level access all students who had engaged in any of the moved content in the last 30 days until early January 2017. To those who would also like this same access, and who were subscribed students prior to October 2016, we're happy to set this up for you. Just shoot us an email at help@teamtreehouse.com and include a link to this thread.

Treehouse is focusing on teaching to two different groups of students. Our Basic content is developed for students who have little to no prior experience in programming, while our Pro content is developed for students and businesses who already have some level of development experience and are likely working in the technology profession.

Our Pro content (and the content we've moved over to Pro from our Basic plan) assumes a certain level of knowledge and moves much quicker than our standard basic content. After a recent audit, we realized we had more advanced content in the basic plan and we wanted to make sure that it was categorized to our new standards.

Moving forward, we will not be moving any further content out of Basic and into Pro. What we will be doing is developing some new Pro exclusive content, as well as some new Techdegree exclusive content.

If there are any questions or concerns, just drop us an email. Thanks to everyone for being students with us!

Thanks for the clarification Rob. Knowing this won't affect my other courses i can continue on my treehouse journey until becoming a pro :)
