Before I can go to Android Data Persistence, what specific stage should I undergo in order to understand it?

I do not understand the Android Data Persistence part even if I have undergone all the preceding series of videos before I went there. I have no idea what to watch for me to understand the things in there. I've done Building Simple Android App, and all the videos before it.
