Before learning Wordpress

I was wondering what other languages and to what extent should someone be versed in prior to learning wordpress!

Second that. If you want to build themes and plugins then the languages you need are HTML, CSS, jQuery, PHP and mySQL. These are all used extensively when building themes and plugins. WordPress is built in PHP.

Hi Emma

I would have said that you should certainly have a good understanding of html, css and a decent grasp on PHP (this does not need to be extensive but it will certainly help you out).

It all depends on what you want to use Wordpress for of course.
