Begginer i need off help

I need help with writing html code Evertime i seem to write up the code and preview it on a web page its underlined how do i overcome this problem !

And make sure you don't have text-decoration: underline; in any * css * files your linked to.

I had this problem briefly. Is it underlined or is it set as a link? Mine was all a run-on link because I simply forgot to close a link tag higher up in my text editor.
