465 PointsBest domain name registrars?
I have been researching domain name registrars lately. I like to get as much information as I can before binding myself (and credit card) to a company. There is a lot of information out there stating that one should be careful when registering a domain name because of hidden fees, spam, some companies do not give you direct access to auth codes, selling your data to third parties, etc. There are a lot of options i.e. go daddy, name cheap, etc.
Does anyone recommend a particular domain name registrar and hosting service? If you could explain why, that would be great!
Thank you!

Courses Plus Student 26,868 PointsI'm a big fan of NameCheap, very reasonable price, and pretty good customer service.
Some registrars sell customers' info to web development firms, and as a result of that, you got many spam emails from those firms begging you to hire them to develop your sites. That raises serious privacy concerns. I never have such issue with NameCheap.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, I believe NameCheap offers .io domain at the lowest price anywhere on the web.
