Best notebook for coding?

I might be in the market for a new computer.

My current notebook is acting weird. Not booting up sometimes. Very erratic.

I'm not against netbooks. I've heard both good and bad comments about them. Will they accomplish all I have to do?

I don't want to purchase something and have buyer's remorse. All help is appreciated.

I'm not sure what you mean about a "notebook". Do you mean a text editor? If so, here's some really good text editors (Sublime Text is my favorite):

  • Sublime Text ($90 but unlimited free trail)
  • Treehouse Workspaces (of course lol)
  • Visual Studio (free)
  • Atom (free)
  • Brackets (free)

And the list goes on. You can also look up something like "top 10 text editors" in the search bar o a web browser.

Good luck!

Hope this helps, Alex

Hi Ryan,

It really depends on a lot. What is your setup like? Are you just getting into this and need something a bit better? What are you currently using? Price range? Generally, boot issues are a few causes and maybe cheaper to fix it than buy a new laptop.

I use an HP Lenovo Y700 - 15.6" FHD Gaming Laptop (Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM, 1TB HDD)

Yes, most would say this maybe overkill. However, I do a range of work and testing on it.
