Best way forward to create an ecommerce website

Hey everyone,

I already know HTML & CSS. I am wanting to create an ecommerce website for a new business of mine. What would be the best approach? I've seen the wordpress ecommerce track which is great but the editing of themes isn't covered. Isn't wordpress coded in php? So would PHP be needed to edit wordpress themes?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The php track explains how to do pretty much what you are looking for in detail. It uses a Paypal cart but it would certainly work. If you've got HTML/CSS already you should be good to go with a bit of patience.
